The international airport in Santorini, also known as Thira Airport, is located on the East side of the Greek island, close to Kamari village. It is the largest in the south Aegean Sea and also serves as a fighter base. It’s a relatively small airport though and it doesn’t have any special business facilities, such as airline lounges but there is a first aid station. Airport sleeping in Santorini is not allowed because of the limited space and the operating hours.
The airport can be reached from most national airports of Greece via Athens and Thessaloniki. Also, numerous charter flights from different European Cities fly directly to the island during the summer period.
It is well connected by road to the rest of the island, and whilst taxis, public bus and car rental are available on arrival.
